摘要 In the present invention, when it is determined that there is some abnormality relating to a variable compression ratio mechanism (71), control is performed so that a target compression ratio is fixed to a low compression ratio side and ignition timing is delayed so as to readily address a case in which the actual compression ratio is high. Prescribed exhaust gas temperature control is performed such that an exhaust gas temperature abnormality (high temperature abnormality) in which the exhaust gas temperature becomes high does not occur, and an internal combustion engine (1) is controlled such that the exhaust gas temperature does not exceed the prescribed temperature. Due to this configuration, it is possible to reliably protect exhaust system parts, such as three-way catalysts (25, 26) and a muffler (27), while avoiding knocking.
