An interrupter (1) in this embodiment has a bellows (12) that is disposed on the outer side in the radial direction of an operation rod (52) inside a vacuum container (11), the bellows (12) expanding and contracting in a movement direction according to the movement of the operation rod (52). A central low-pressure chamber (44) is formed on the inner side in the radial direction of an inter-electrode insulator (40) that extends in the movement direction of a movable contact unit (50) between an open-side end plate (62) and a closed-side end plate (22). The bellows (12) sections off a vacuum chamber (15) from the central low-pressure chamber (44). Constituted from an electrical insulator, the insulation section (55) of the operation rod (52) faces a high-pressure chamber 5 on the open side in the movement direction relative to the open-side end plate 62. An insulation tube (30) is joined to the end section (3e) on the closed side in the movement direction relative to the pressure container (3); and a closed-side, low-pressure chamber (33) extends to the end section (3e).
