According to the present invention, first and second cage floor plates, and first and second baseboards are installed below first and second cage wall surfaces. The first baseboard is provided with a magnetic body at a contact part with the first cage floor plate. In a normal situation, a step ladder is fitted in a first space formed by the first baseboard and the first cage floor plate. In an emergency situation in which the first and second baseboards are separated from the first and second cage floor plates, respectively, the step ladder that is being fitted in the first space is turned around a pivot point to be caught on a catching bracket installed in a second space formed by the second baseboard and the second cage floor plate, thereby forming a ladder. Hence, an elevator cage according to the present invention enables a passenger to escape therefrom. |
