Provided are a water-soluble paint remover, use thereof, and method for removing paint from a workpiece. The water-soluble paint remover comprises the following components in parts by weight: 36-60 parts of sodium carbonate, 44-80 parts of sodium metasilicate, 21-40 parts of light calcium carbonate, and 0.5-1.0 parts of coconut diethanol amide. The water-soluble paint remover has low causticity towards a substrate, is safe and environmentally friendly, and employs a reaction between an alkaline substance and a coating and properties of other components to peel and separate the coating from a surface of the substrate. Moreover, the paint remover can be used with water added thereto, and thus has a low usage cost. The paint remover can be used to remove paint layers or plastic layers from surfaces of various metal workpieces. |
