The present invention provides an NY-ESO-2 gene and protein, or usage of a detection reagent therefor, which are used to prepare a kit for (a) diagnosing microsatellite instable colorectal cancer, and/or (b) determining the prognosis of a colorectal cancer patient, and applied to (c) a treatment method for microsatellite instable colorectal cancer with NY-ESO-2 being a target.
