According to the present invention, a cage upper grab handle having a grab-handle height changer (11) is provided on the upper surface of a cage. A trigger member (16) is fastened in a hoistway. The grab-handle height changer (11) is provided with: a fastened grab-handle part (12) that is fastened to the upper surface of the cage; a movable grab-handle part (13) provided on the upper end part of the fastened grab-handle part (12); and an engagement mechanism part (14) provided at the movable grab-handle part (13). The movable grab-handle part (13) can be displaced between a stand-upright position to stand upright on the upper end part of the fastened grab-handle part (12), and a fall-down position to fall down relative to the upper end part of the fastened grab-handle part (12). When the cage moves upwardly and the engagement mechanism part (14) is pushed down by the trigger member (16), the movable grab-handle part (13) is displaced from the stand-upright position to the fall-down position. When the movable grab-handle part (13) is at the fall-down position, the movable grab-handle part (13) protrudes out of the cage area when the cage is viewed from the top. |
