A dual-pinion electric power steering device has a pinion shaft (24) to which steering force from a steering wheel (18) is transmitted, a rack (12a) provided to a rack shaft (12) and capable of meshing with the pinion shaft (24), a pinion shaft (38) to which rotational drive force from an assisting electric motor (34) is transmitted, and a rack (12b) provided to the rack shaft (12) and capable of meshing with the pinion shaft (38). A steering-side guide mechanism (32) is provided with a first rack guide member for pushing the rack shaft (12) toward the pinion shaft (24), an assist-side guide mechanism (40) is provided with a second rack guide member for pushing the rack shaft (12) toward the pinion shaft (38), and the first rack guide member is formed to be less rigid than the second rack guide member, depending on, e.g., material and shape. |
