This winding-type battery has an electrode group that has a first electrode and a second electrode wound with a separator interposed therebetween, and has a first end surface and a second end surface. The first electrode is provided with a first current collector sheet and a first active material layer formed on the surface thereof. The second electrode is provided with a second current collecting sheet and a second active material layer formed on the surface thereof. The first current collecting sheet has a first uncoated section, which does not have the first active material layer on both surfaces, at an end section disposed on the first end surface of the electrode group. An edge surface of the first uncoated section is at least partially covered by an insulation layer, and in the first end surface, an end section of the insulation layer protrudes more than an end section of the separator.
