Provided is a cover 30 for an endoscope 1, the cover being fitted onto a distal end member 20 at which an erecting base 40 of an endoscope insertion part 2 is provided, wherein the cover is provided with the following: a peripheral edge part 32b which forms an opening 31 through which an erecting base accommodation space 24 which is in the distal end member 20 and in which the erecting base 40 is accommodated is exposed to the outside; a planned breaking part 35 which includes a breaking initiation point 36 disposed in the peripheral edge part 32b and a first thin-walled part 37 in which a breaking part of the peripheral edge part 32b broken from the breaking initiation point 36 is connected to an inner surface of a surface of the thin-walled part opposing the opening 31; and a locking projection 39 that is locked by engaging with the outer surface of the distal end member 20 in a direction intersecting the outer surface. |
