A method and apparatus for coordinating access to a shared transmission medium in a Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN), in order to minimize the risk for collisions. The method includes identifying a station associated with a first basic service set (BSS), and providing access opportunity to the station on the shared transmission medium in one or more time slots, which time slots are assigned dependent on a traffic pattern of the station. |
