PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid state imaging device that performs a weighted addition of a plurality of pixel signals output from a vertical signal line while excluding errors caused when the pixel signals are amplified in an amplifier (PGA) (errors due to noise and response delay) and errors caused when the pixel signals are A/D-converted (conversion errors due to noise and quantization errors).SOLUTION: The solid state imaging device once holds a plurality of pixel signals Sig1, Sig2, Sig3 output from a vertical signal line VL by means of a plurality of capacitors C1, C2, C3 in a weighted addition circuit 10, respectively. The pixel signals held in the respective capacitors C1, C2, C3 (more specifically, electrical charges given by the pixel signals) are added up on the capacitors C1, C2, C3 to generate a weighted additive pixel signal on a node Na. The pixel signal generated on the node Na is then output to a PGA 11. |
