PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a buckling-restrained brace which is given a required energy absorption performance and furthermore allows the rigidity thereof to be improved, and which can also be made light in weight.SOLUTION: A buckling-restrained brace 1 comprises a core material 2 and a pair of restriction materials 3 which are disposed while facing each other along both sides of the core material 2. The core material 2 is formed from a band-shaped flat steel plate. Each of the restriction materials 3 is formed from a combination of a plurality of steel materials 4A, 4B, 4C which are arranged side by side in a width direction of the core material 2, extend in a length direction and are joined with each other. In a length-direction portion of the core material 2, a slit 8 is provided along the length direction. The pair of opposing restriction materials 3 are joined to each other within the slit 8 of the core material 2 and in width-direction both ends. A rib 4a is provided which is positioned within a width-direction range of the core material 2 divided by the slit 8 in the restriction materials 3 and extends in the length direction of the restriction materials 3. |
