PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stock for a stave having high strength, having excellent wear resistance and also producible at a low cost.SOLUTION: The stock for a stave comprises at least one or two or more kinds of elements among Al, Sn, Ni and Mn by 0.2 to 4.0 mass%, and the balance Cu with inevitable impurities. Since the stock is composed of a copper alloy in which the total amount of the additional elements of Al, Sn, Ni and Mn lies in the range of 0.2 to 4.0 mass%, these additional elements enter solid solution into a host phase of Cu, and, by solid solution strengthening, its strength improves, and its wear resistance can be made satisfactory. |
