PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pressure release valve capable of being operated without a drive source such as a power source and air, and keeping a releasing state after the operation.SOLUTION: A pressure release valve has: a releasing state retention metal fitting 22 disposed on a valve rod 11; a wedge 31; a wedge support 41 supporting the wedge 31 from a lower side of the wedge; and a spring 35 for the wedge horizontally pressing the wedge 31 toward the releasing state retention metal fitting 22. In a closed state when a valving element 12 is seated, the wedge is kept into contact with an outer peripheral face of the releasing state retention metal fitting 22, and in a releasing state, the releasing state retention metal fitting 22 moves upward together with the valve rod 11 to release the contact of the wedge 31 with the releasing state retention metal fitting 22, and the wedge 31 is pressed by the spring 35 for the wedge and horizontally moved to a lower side of the releasing state retention metal fitting 22 to support the releasing state retention metal fitting 22 together with the wedge support 41 from the lower side of the releasing state retention metal fitting to keep the releasing state. |
