The present invention is a discharge head (20) provided with a head main body (30) in which nozzle holes (36) for discharging droplets are formed and a cooling mechanism (34) that cools the head main body (30). A nozzle surface (38) in which the nozzle holes (36) are opened is constituted of a water repellent area (52) formed around the openings of the nozzle holes (36) and a hydrophilic area (50) formed so as to surround the water repellent area (52). With this constitution, increases in the temperature of the discharge head can be suppressed, and drying of the nozzle surface can be prevented. In addition, falling of droplets adhering to the nozzle surface onto the print medium can be suppressed. |
