The objective of the present invention is to enable seamless input of operational instructions to joints having different response speeds so as to facilitate operation of a medical manipulator. The present invention provides an operation input device (2) that receives operational instructions to a medical manipulator (3) comprising a distal end operative unit (7) having one or more joints (12, 13, 14) on a distal end thereof and a base end operative unit (15) that is connected to a base end side of the distal end operative unit (7) and moves the distal end operative unit (7). The operation input device (2) comprises: a first operational unit (19) which generates a motion instruction that drives the distal end operative unit (7) according to the operational instruction input by the palm or fingers of a hand; and a second operational unit (20) which is joined to the first operational unit (19) and generates a motion instruction that drives the base end operative unit (15) according to the operational instruction input by the wrist or arm. |
