[Class 132 (ii)] In a racket-press, means are provided for varying the location of the pivoted end of a lever component of the pressure applying means to adapt the press to rackets of various thicknesses. Brackets 3 are attached to the lower frame 2 of the press and are slidably connected to the upper frame 1 by brackets 9 which also retain the ends of bowed spring strips 7, slidably engaged in longitudinal grooves 8. A pressure applying lever 5 is provided with cranked or cam portions 6 which force the frames 1 and 2 together when the lever 5 is actuated. A preferably U- shaped slot 4 in each bracket member 3 allows of varying the initial distance between the frames according to the location of the ferrules 10 of the lever 5 in the slots.
