摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To switch a communication path without reducing bandwidth or causing billing.SOLUTION: Relay devices (gateways X and Y) are arranged in a base 10 connected with another base 20 via redundant communication paths 31, 32 and are provided for the communication paths 31, 32, respectively. The relay devices (gateways X and Y) are an L2 transmission type and connected with a communication device (server 14) arranged in the base 10 via a path selection device (L2 switch 13) that selects a path referring to a data link layer. If one of the relay devices is notified that it newly becomes active by switching of a communication path, a packet of which a transmission source is the MAC address of a communication device (client 23) included in the other base is transmitted to the other device in the base via the path selection device (L2 switch 13), thereby changing a path selected by the path selection device (L2 switch 13).
