PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating agent which is suitably used for aqueous compositions and gives a coating being excellent in quick-drying properties and being flexible and excellent in water resistance.SOLUTION: A copolymer is provided which is obtained by polymerizing an acrylic ester monomer having an alkyl group having a specific branched structure and a hydrophilic acrylic monomer having a specific structure at a certain ratio. The copolymer is preferably obtained by radical polymerization in a mixed solvent of an aqueous solution having a buffer action and an aqueous solvent mixable with water at an arbitrary ratio at 25°C. |
