PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protector for a catcher of baseball or softball having such a function that a protective pad part is bent to improve fitness, following bilaterally asymmetrical movement in a pitching action.SOLUTION: A first bending line 3a which has low flexural rigidity toward a flank on the pitching arm side via a position nearer to the pitching arm side than the center of a body of a breast of a catcher, is provided from a shoulder on the opposite side to the pitching arm, on a protection pad 2 covering the breast and an abdomen of the catcher. Consequently, even when an upper half part is largely rotated bilaterally asymmetrically as in a pitching action, the protection pad 2 is bent along the first bending line 3a, to thereby allow a protector 1 to fit to a trunk of the catcher so as not to prevent moving function of the catcher. |
