PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sorting device and a sorting method which can improve accuracy of sorting plastic pieces and foreign material from a mixture.SOLUTION: In a sorting device 1, a sorting part 12 sorts plastic pieces 2 which pass through between a rotation body 21 for sorting and a rotation body 22 for pressing without adhering to the rotation body 21 for sorting, and a hot melt 3 adhering to an outer circumference part of the rotation body 21 for sorting from mixed plastic 4 by rotating the rotation body 22 for pressing and the rotation body 21 for sorting having an irregular part 23 formed on an outer circumference part, and pressing the mixed plastic 4 to the outer circumference part of the rotation body 21 for sorting by the rotation body 22 for pressing. A removing part 14 includes a wire 31 stretched parallel to an axial line of the rotation body 21 for sorting, and removes the hot melt 3 from the outer circumference part of the rotation body 21 for sorting by flicking the hot melt 3 by the wire 31 caught by the hot melt 3 adhering to the outer circumference part of the rotation body 21 for sorting. |
