solubilizing a water insoluble but EtOH-soluble drug in EtOH solution including coating materials (e.q. dextrin, gelatin or arabia gum), spray-drying to give solid elixir of powder type; adding 0.5-3 wt.% of nonhydrous SiO2 to the powder result and to improve stability and mobility. Solid elixirs increase the bioavailabity of water insoluble drug substances.
