PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device allowing for reduction in panel heater thickness while securing the mechanical strength of a panel heater.SOLUTION: A plastic substrate or a metal substrate is used as a base material for a panel heater 7 heating a liquid crystal panel 1. Since the plastic substrate and the metal substrate have strengths greater than that of a glass substrate, the strength of the panel heater 7 is not significantly impaired even when the panel heater is thinned. The thinned panel heater 7 suppresses a gap between the liquid crystal panel 1 and a circuit substrate 6, and the reduced gap reduces a height of a liquid crystal display device. In addition, this results in reduced amounts of a protective material 13 covering a bonding wire 12 and of a conductive adhesive 11a establishing electrical conduction between an upper substrate 3 and the circuit substrate 6, whereby suppressing the influences of expansion and contraction of the protective material and the adhesive due to temperature change. |
