PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine capable of improving both of quality and fuel consumption of exhaust gas due to early warming-up of a catalyst.SOLUTION: An internal combustion engine comprises: a cooling water passage W2 for a collection port that is branched from a main cooling water passage for introducing cooling water in a cylinder head SH and can make the cooling water pass near the collection port in the cylinder head SH; and a valve mechanism X provided at a branch portion of the main cooling water passage and the cooling water passage W2 for the collection port, or on the cooling water passage W2 for the collection port. In this embodiment, the valve mechanism X mainly comprises an electromagnetic valve, and can take an opening condition under which passage of the cooling water is allowed, and a closing condition under which passage of the cooling water is banned. |
