PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform fullness detection of sheets on a sheet ejecting tray without need of a physical mechanism such as a fullness detection sensor.SOLUTION: A sheet ejecting device is a sheet ejecting device for performing fullness detection of ejected sheets on a sheet ejecting tray. The sheet ejecting device includes: ejecting means that ejects sheets on the sheet ejecting tray; counting means that counts an accumulated ejection number every time when the sheet is ejected by the ejecting means; storage means that stores a defined ejection number threshold and a defined ejection interval time value; fullness detecting means that detects that the sheet ejecting tray is filled with the ejected sheets when the accumulated ejection number counted by the counting means exceeds the defined ejection number threshold; and reset means that resets the accumulated ejection number counted by the counting means when an ejection interval time exceeds the defined ejection interval time, the ejection interval time extending from when one sheet is ejected until a next sheet is ejected by the ejecting means. |
