发明名称 Improvements in doors for buildings or shelters
摘要 581,000. Shelters for aircraft etc.; doors. BELLMAN, N. S. Nov. 25, 1936, No. 32264. [Classes 20 (i) and 20 (iii)] [Also in Group XXV] Relates to doors for buildings or shelters such as aeroplane sheds, particularly those which are camouflaged and turtle-back shaped so as to cast no sharp shadows. According to the invention, one or more sloping doors are adapted to close a doorway aperture in a sloping end or side wall of the building, the door surface, when in the closed position, being substantially flush with the wall, and the door or doors being arranged for movement, first inwardly from the plane of the wall and then laterally so as to leave the doorway unobstructed. Fig. 2 shows in sectional plan one end of an aircraft shed having a doorway b which is adapted to be closed by two doors d, one of which is shown in sectional elevation in Fig. 3. Each door is mounted on a truck with a braced superstructure g to support the door surface, the truck having flanged castors h, to run along a rail track i of L-shape within the shed. To open the doorway fully, both trucks are moved inwardly along the tracks and then to right or left to positions under the roof at the sides of the doorway. One door is shown in Fig. 2 as having been so moved, the other being in closed position. The trucks may be operated by hand, e.g., by means of crank handles z driving through bevel gears a pinion z' meshing with a rack i<2> arranged between the guide-tracks i. The door surfaces may consist of steel plates j, Fig. 3, supported on corrugated steel sheets k laid upon horizontal angle-members l, which are secured to two parallel frame members m extending along the full depth of the door. The members m, which are cross-braced, are mounted upon the truck f. A small wicket-gate r is provided at the bottom of the door. It is carried by rollers so that it can move up and dowrf on tracks between which the gate is mounted. The gate is counterbalanced by weights which are connected to it by cables s, Fig. 3, and are housed in pipes s' upon the truck. A simple fastening for the gate is described. A gutter may be attached to the inner side of one door, near the edge which meets the other door, to collect rain. A fixed hood or canopy e located above the doorway forms a continuation of the sloping wall and doors, and is secured to a reinforced concrete arch y' supporting or adjacent to an inner door y. The main part of the shelter may be excavated in the side of a hill, with the hood and sloping walls covered with earth and turf and the doors painted to match the grass.
