A backlight assembly (200) for an image displaying flat panel (100) includes opposed light sources (221) disposed under an upper first light guide part (211A) of the light guide plate assembly (210A). A lower second light guide part (213A) is disposed under the first light guide part (211A) and reflectors (230,240) are included for redirecting and redestribution of light from the light sources (211) into the larger area of the first light guide part (211). The opposed light sources (211) may be angled so they don't shine light directly into one another. |
