PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine control device that protects an engine and a turbocharger against damage and suppresses an output torque of the engine from being lowered when an exhaust pressure exceeds an allowable value.SOLUTION: The engine control device controls an engine 1 including: a turbocharger 2 for supercharging the engine 1 using an exhaust gas of the engine 1; a waste gate valve 21 for regulating a flow rate of the exhaust gas flowing from the engine 1 to a turbine 20 of the turbocharger 2; and an intake throttle valve 13 for reducing the flow rate of air compressed to the engine 1 from a compressor 11 in the turbocharger 2. The engine control device includes control means 30 that controls the intake throttle valve 13 to be closed while fully closing the waste gate valve 21 and advances ignition timing in the engine 1 when supercharging of the turbocharger 2 causes the exhaust pressure to exceed a predetermined value while the waste gate valve 21 is fully closed. |
