A tool for removing an obstruction or blockage from an interior of a pipe comprises an elongate main body 2, a guide member (3, fig 2) extending outwardly from the main body 2 along an arcuate path and a cord 4. The cord 4 defines a snare region 5 which can be in the form of a loop or noose for snaring an obstruction within the pipe and is reconfigurable between a first configuration wherein at least part of the cord 4 is co-operable with the guide member (3, fig 2) and a second configuration wherein the cord 4 is remote from the guide member (3, fig 2). In the first configuration the cord 4 is preferably configured to enable the obstruction to be received within the snare region 5 and in the second configuration the cord 4 is preferably configured to make contact with the obstruction such that it snares the obstruction. A scraping portion 8 and guide wheel 14 may also be present. A method of removing an obstruction from a pipe using the tool is also disclosed. |
