A method for causing one or more messages to be displayed comprises detecting a position of a cursor and monitoring at least one value of the detected position; detecting the cursor breaking the plane 530 of a webpage 510; comparing the monitored value to at least one predetermined value and determining a relationship of the detected cursor position to at least one position of a pixel or plurality of pixels; and in response to the detecting the cursor breaking the plane and the determined relationship causing one or more messages to be displayed on a user display device. The plurality of pixels may be a horizontal or vertical line positioned around an interface between the webpage and browser functionality 520 or menus. The content of the message may be based on data associated with the user or user device, such as a users browsing history. |
