PURPOSE:To attain the communication of a video signal and a voice signal normally and to reduce the wait time of the user by devising the equipment such that caller side video conference terminals and called side video conference terminals simultaneously omit a procedure to connect plural calls and a procedure to revise the communication mode. CONSTITUTION:Information of exchange capability and number of times of connection implemented in the past from an opposite terminal information accommodation means 13 are inputted to an operating mode decision means 10 based on a called number or a caller number obtained from a call control section 12 and information to specify an opposite video conference equipment. When the provision of a function of a video conference is discriminated based on the information representing past connection, the procedure of capability exchange, connection procedure for plural calls and a mode changeover procedure are omitted. Furthermore, when no provision of the function of video conference is discriminated based on the information of the past connection, the processing of capability exchange is implemented and the processing is executed according to the procedures of connection of plural calls and mode changeover sequentially. |
