According to one embodiment, a memory device includes a memory, a first controller, a wireless antenna, a memory unit, and a second controller. The first controller controls the memory. The memory unit is capable of operating by the wireless antenna. The second controller is capable of operating by the wireless antenna, reads data from the memory unit when receiving a read instruction, and outputs the data using the wireless antenna.

1. An SD memory card, comprising:
a connector electrically connectable to a first host device; a nonvolatile memory operable by power supplied from the first host device via the connector; a first controller operable by the power supplied from the first host device via the connector, the first controller controlling the nonvolatile memory; a wireless antenna which generates power based on a radio wave from a second host device which is different from the first host device; a memory operable by the power generated by the wireless antenna; and a second controller operable by the power generated by the wireless antenna, wherein the first controller writes, when the SD memory card is electrically connected to the first host device and a write instruction and first data are received from the first host device via the connector, the first data to the nonvolatile memory and writes second data corresponding to the first data to the memory, the second controller outputs, when the SD memory card is electrically connected to the first host device and a read instruction of third data written in the nonvolatile memory is received from the second host device via the wireless antenna, the read instruction of the third data to the first controller, the first controller reads, based on the read instruction of the third data from the second controller, the third data from the nonvolatile memory and outputs the read third data to the second controller, and the second controller sends the third data output from the first controller to the second host device using the wireless antenna, and the second controller reads, when the SD memory card is not electrically connected to the first host device and a read instruction of the second data is received from the second host device via the wireless antenna, the second data from the memory and sends the read second data to the second host device using the wireless antenna.
