[Class 44] Sliding sashes are held in partly open position by spring-pressed balls C which engage with recesses F in side plates backed by spring washers S. Pairs of bolts I on the top and bottom sashes are pressed apart by springs K and enter perforations in the side plates for locking the sashes in position. The lower bolts are withdrawn by finger pieces M and the upper ones by means of a cord O. Spring- loaded dashpots R are provided for both sashes. |
