摘要 A triangular shaped omnidirectional exercise platform includes a base member, a pad member and three ball transfer units. The pad member is carried by a top surface of the base member. The three ball transfer units are coupled to a bottom surface of the base member. The three ball transfer units are arranged having an equal angular offset therebetween providing stability to the exercise platform during use. The ball transfer units each comprise a hemispherical housing, a primary ball member and a plurality of secondary ball members disposed between an inner surface of the hemispherical housing and the primary ball member. The base member can include an upper body member and a lower body member. The pad member can be manufactured of a pliant material. Features of the pad member can identify a stability region of the exercise platform. The platform can have a convex arched top surface.

A method of exercising using an omnidirectional exercise platform for facilitating a physical training exercise, the method comprising steps of: obtaining said omnidirectional exercise platform, said omnidirectional exercise platform comprising: a base member having a top surface, an opposite bottom surface and a sidewall extending between a peripheral region of said top surface and a peripheral region of said opposite bottom surface,three omnidirectional platform support units, each omnidirectional platform support unit comprising a plurality of secondary roller bearing elements arranged between a primary ball and an interior surface of a ball retention member, enabling omnidirectional motion of the primary ball within the ball retention member, each of said three omnidirectional platform support units assembled directly to said base member, at least a portion of each omnidirectional platform support unit being partially recessed into said base member and each omnidirectional platform support unit having a centroid, wherein said three centroids define corners of a triangular shape, wherein each centroid remains stationary independent of a direction of travel of said omnidirectional exercise platform, anda defined user contact surface located upon said base member top surface, said defined user contact surface bound by a peripheral edge, wherein said defined user contact surface peripheral edge is positioned one of substantially aligned with or slightly inward of said centroids; placing said three omnidirectional platform support units of said omnidirectional exercise platform against a support surface; placing a body part of an individual onto said base member top surface, wherein said body part is located within said defined user contact surface; and exercising by at least one of: using muscles to move said omnidirectional exercise platform in at least one of a linear and a rotational motion upon said support surface, andusing muscles to maintain said omnidirectional exercise platform in a stationary position and orientation upon said support surface, wherein a combination of said three omnidirectional platform support units in conjunction with said defined user contact surface peripheral edge of said defined user contact surface ensures stability of said omnidirectional exercise platform during use.
