[Class 65 (ii)] In an arrangement for hinging a door, indicated at 11, to a vertical post indicated at 10, comprising two brackets 17, 18 on the door co-operating respectively with two brackets 13 on the post, with a spherical bearing surface (provided by a ball 16) between the brackets of one co-operating pair and an adjustable bearing element 19 between the brackets of the other pair, the element 19 is constituted by a plunger having a conical or hemispherical head carried by one bracket and capable of being tightened against a corresponding surface on the other bracket by a screw 20 (with a locknut 21). In the form shown, a spring 26 is also provided to take up wear automatically. The arrangement shown includes similar means for mounting a second door 12 on the post 10 about the same axis as the door 11, and is particularly adapted for use in motor vehicles. For lubrication, each member 17 has an oil channel leading to a space adjacent to the recess in which the ball 16 bears, this space containing a hard felt or fibre packing 23 ; the ball is formed with spiral grooves which conduct the oil to a bore 24 in the bracket 13 leading to a similar recess and packing adjacent to the bearing member 19 of the other door.
