The present invention relates to an aqueous composition comprising a cross-linking agent and a water-soluble compound comprising 1 to 100% by weight of a cross-linkable linear polyester backbone having an effective functionality of less than 2, an oxygen/carbon ratio greater than 1:2, a hydroxyl value greater than 100 or an acid value greater than 80, an ester group amount between 5 and 15 mmol per gram of polyester and at least one reactive functional group A intended to react with the cross-linking agent. The invention relates to all fields in which a stable dispersion of polymers in an aqueous medium is sought and a water-resistant product after drying is required. The applications of the invention will thus specifically be for paints, varnishes, adhesives, inks or even soluble plastics. |
