Provided is a facial expression identification system having an inexpensive and simple configuration and capable of continually (routinely) identifying the facial expression of a person. The system is provided with: a wearable device (3) which can be worn on the head of a person; multiple detection devices (4a-4q) which are respectively disposed at multiple positions facing the face of the person wearing the wearable device (3), and which respectively detect the distances between the face and the wearable device (3) at the multiple positions when the wearable device (3) is worn; a storage unit (2) for storing learning data which are obtained through machine learning of the corresponding relation between data of past detection results of the multiple detection devices (4a-4q) and facial expressions; and a facial expression identification unit (11) which, upon reading the learning data from the storage unit (2) and receiving detection results of the multiple detection devices (4a-4q) as input data, identifies the facial expression of the person.
