[Classes 26 and 46] Apparatus for sterilizing, by the use of gases such as ozonized air, liquids such as water in bulk in such containers as swimming bath and reservoirs having concrete or similar foundations comprises a distribution system for the gaseous sterilizing medium comprising a series of distribution boxes 4 embedded in the foundation of the liquid container in spaced relation, and each having radiating therefrom a series of short distribution pipes 5 with their free ends arranged to open through the surface of the foundation to the liquid. The distribution boxes are arranged in the bottom of a swimming bath 1, Fig. 1, each row being connected by a pipe 7 and valve 9 to a main 8 arranged along the side of the bath, and by the main 8 to an ozonizing plant 3. To bring the cover of each box level with the bottom of the bath the cover is formed with an externally screw threaded spigot 6a, Fig. 3, which screws adjustably into the box. A collar 10 of the correct height may be clamped between a flange on the cover and the top of the box. Water entering the bath may be charged with the gas in the supply main, and separate gas mains may be provided for groups of the pipes 7. |
