[Class 136 (iii)] [Also in Group XV] In a child's tricycle, rocking horse, or toy roundabout animal, the framework of the tricycle or a part of the rocking horse or toy roundabout acts as the internal frame and support for a non-rigid stuffed fabric toy animal. In the child's tricycle shown, the frame for supporting a stuffed fabric horse A comprises a horizontal bar 1 having secured at its rear end an inverted-U-shaped member 2 bent to the shape of the rear legs of a horse, the ends being secured, as by eyes 2a, to an axle 3 carrying the two rear wheels 4, tubular distance pieces on the axle retaining it in proper position relatively to the eyed ends 2a of the member 2. The front end of the bar 1 is bent &c. to form a bearing 6 for a steering-stem 7, which is secured to a strip metal fork 11 by means of two cross rivets 16 and spacing- members 11a. An inverted-U-shaped member 8 bent to the shape of the front legs is secured to the bar 1, and the members 2, 8 are braced by struts 9. Near the front end of the bar 1 is secured a bar 10, which is twisted and bent to form the support for the neck and head the steering-stem 7 passing through a hole 10a in the bar 10. A strut 15 is connected to the rear axle 3, and is swivelled to a distance member 18 riveted between the legs of the fork 11. Pedals 14 are provided on the axle of the front wheel 13, or on a separate axle connected by a chain &c. to the rear-wheel axle. In the case of a rocking horse or roundabout animal, the main frame member 1 is of rectangular form, and the steering-stem is dispensed with, the lower ends of the leg members 2, 8 being connected to a suitable support. |
