[Class 140] An adhesive strip or sheet is made by saturating an unwoven fibrous backing material such as paper with a binding agent, drying the backing so that the fibres are bonded together and pores are formed in at least one face of the material and thereafter applying an adhesive coating to the porous face. The backing material and its method of manufacture are described in Specification 482,815. The adhesive may be pressure-sensitive or solvent-activatable and primers may be used. Preferably a rubber-base adhesive is employed.</p> |
