The invention relates to a washing device for a vehicle washing system, which washing device comprises a shaft which is drivable in a rotary manner about an axis of rotation, and washing elements, which are operatively connected to said shaft, for cleaning a vehicle. In order to provide a washing device of this type, with which an adaptation to the contour of a vehicle is made possible in order to achieve better cleaning of said vehicle, it is proposed according to the invention that the washing device is divided axially into two or more washing device segments and that at least one washing device segment has a washing element holding body with washing elements held thereon, said washing element holding body defining a washing device segment axis which is different from the axis of rotation, and a gear unit which couples the shaft to the washing element holding body in order to rotate the latter about the washing device segment axis, wherein the washing element holding body is designed to be pivotable relative to the shaft via the gear unit. The invention also relates to a vehicle washing system with a washing device. |
