483,103. Friction clutches. NEWTON, N. B. Oct. 7, 1936, No. 35339. Divided application. [Class 80 (ii)] In a centrifugal friction clutch, studs e fixed to the movable driving plate a are secured each to one end of a flat blade spring g, the other end of which is secured to a back plate c, so as to provide a driving connection between the plates a and c while allowing axial movement of the plate a. The plate c is fixed to the driving flywheel a<1> by studs c<2> fitted with spacing sleeves. The centrifugal mechanism, which may be constructed as described in Specification 483,102, acts on a plate b which is slidable on the studs e and which acts on the plate a through interposed springs d. The plate b is retracted by springs b<1>. Collars f on the studs e coact with the plate b to limit the extension of the springs d. Specification 436,747 also is referred to. |
