A wire housing protector having a novel structure is provided which can improve the holding power of the lock mechanism holding a lid on the protector main body without being less compact. This wire housing protector 10 comprises a lock mechanism provided with: an elastic projecting piece 30, which projects from the lid 16 and which has an engagement protrusion 32 on the outer surface of the leading end portion; and an elastic projecting piece insertion unit 22 which is provided on the side wall 20 of the protector main body 12 and which comprises an engagement part 28 that engages with the engagement protrusion 32. Contact surfaces 40, 42 of contact between the engagement protrusion 32 and the engagement part 28 include a first engagement surface 40a, 42a which extends from the direction of the side wall 20 of the protector main body 12 in the direction of protrusion of the engagement protrusion 32, a second engagement surface 40b, 42b which extends from the end of the extension of the first engagement surface 40a, 42a towards the lid 16, and a third engagement surface 40c, 42c which extends from the end of the extension of the second engagement surface 40b, 42b in the direction of protrusion of the engagement protrusion 32. |
