The present invention discloses the use of a substituted benzoguanidine derivative as a polymyxin antibiotic synergist, particularly as a synergist and a drug resistance reversal agent of the polymyxin antibiotic for inhibiting a sensitive strain. The present invention also provides a substituted benzoguanidine derivative or a composition comprising the same in combination with a polymyxin antibiotic for preparing a compound pharmaceutical preparation for human or animal use in the treatment of a disease caused by a gram-negative bacterial infection or the preparation a growth-promoting feed additive and for the raising of livestock animals.
