Embodiments of the present invention provide a method for controlling an inter-system detection event and user equipment, which are used for avoiding the problem of waste of radio resources of a target network circuit switched domain and call drop/call loss of UE in a case in which SRVCC switch fails due to that SRVCC capabilities of the UE and an IMS network do not support the current call state. The method comprises: user equipment (UE) receives an inter-system detection event request message sent by an eNodeB (eNodeB); the UE obtains the current call state of the UE and SRVCC capabilities of an IMS network and the UE; and the UE reports, when a measurement report of an inter-system detection event satisfies a report condition, the measurement report, if the SRVCC capabilities of the IMS network and the UE support the UE to perform SRVCC switch in the current call state.
