A furniture system is provided, comprising a rail (100) being provided with two or more parallel grooves (101) extending in the longitudinal direction of said rail (100). The furniture system further comprises an interconnecting plate (200) wherein a first face (202) of the interconnecting plate is provided with two or more ridges (201) and the grooves (101) are configured for receiving the ridges (201) of the interconnecting plate (200) in order to prevent lateral movement of the interconnecting plate (200) relative the rail (100).
