The present invention relates to a method for capturing data relating to animals that are to be slaughtered from an animal that is to be slaughtered by means of an image capture unit, having an image capture range in which a rear surface of the animal that is to be slaughtered can be captured visually and in which image points on the rear surface of the animal that is to be slaughtered can be captured and wherein the image capture unit is capable of providing image point data from the image points in transmittable form, and by means of an evaluation unit that is connected to the image capture unit and that can be used to capture the image point data and that is capable of using the image point data to capture markings on the rear surface of the animal that is to be slaughtered and of providing the captured markings as a storable capture result, wherein the method has the following method steps: a) capture of the image points on the rear surface of the animal that is to be slaughtered in the image capture range by the image capture unit, wherein the image points contain the markings, b) transmittable provision of the image point data from the image points by the image capture unit, c) capture of the image point data by the evaluation unit, d) association of an identification code for an animal that is to be slaughtered with the image point data, e) provision of the markings as a storable capture result with an associated identification code for an animal that is to be slaughtered by the evaluation unit. |
