A pipe end machining device configured to machine an end of a pipe includes an outer housing having a spindle rotatably mounted therein, tool carriers are mounted on the spindle, a hub assembly attached to the outer housing, a vertical adjustment assembly attached to the hub assembly and to the outer housing, and a drive assembly configured to rotate the spindle and tool carriers. The vertical adjustment assembly adjusts the upward and downward position of the cutting tools relative to the pipe. The hub assembly mounts the device to the pipe and fixes the relative upward or downward position of the cutting tools relative to the pipe, thereby preventing vibration and chatter when the device is cutting a planar surface on the end of the pipe. |

an outer housing; a spindle mounted within the outer housing and carrying tool supports and cutting tools, the spindle being rotatable relative to the outer housing; a hub assembly mounted within the spindle, the hub assembly including
a mounting assembly including an upper plate, a lower plate, and three shafts extending between the upper and lower plates, the lower plate capable of being attached to the pipe;a stem extending from the upper plate and connected to the spindle by an interengagement of the stem and spindle, the interengagement configured to allow the spindle to move linearly relative to the stem, but preventing rotational movement of the spindle relative to the stem, anda hub mounted on the three shafts and between the first and second plates, the hub being moveable relative to the three shafts, the hub being connected to the spindle by an interengagement between the hub and the spindle, the interengagement configured to allow the spindle to rotate relative to the hub and move linearly with the hub. |
