An array substrate and a manufacturing method thereof and a display device. The array substrate comprises a first signal line (71) extending in a first direction, and a common electrode (30) located above the first signal line (71) and provided with a first opening (31); orthographic projections of the first opening (31) and the first signal line (71), on a plane where the common electrode (30) is located, have an overlapping portion; the common electrode (30) comprises a first portion (30a) which is overlapped with the orthographic projection portion of the first signal line (71), and a second portion (30b) which is located outside of the orthographic projection of the first signal line (71), connected with the first portion (30a) and arranged on the same layer as the first portion (30a). The array substrate can reduce the poor cross-color effect at the two sides of a data line (13c) or a grid line (11a).
