The present invention relates to an image processing device, an image processing method, and a program that allow notification regarding unintentionally photographed facial images. Facial images are successively detected while changing the brightness of an image. When a facial image is detected in the image at any brightness other than the appropriate brightness, said facial image is designated as a product of unintentional photographing, and an additional mark is displayed in the location in which said facial image was detected to indicate that an unintentionally photographed facial image has been detected. The present invention could be utilized in a mobile terminal.
